Message from the President
Summer is just around the corner and, judging by our spring weather, it looks like we might get some sunshine this year. We are preparing for another season of programs and the nets will go up the week of May 17 with the first tournament, the Blind Date, being played on Saturday July 10. The kids programs will start on July 5 and we encourage you to sign up early as space is limited.
The Club continues to be financially healthy and we are preparing to resurface courts 3 & 4 within the next 24 months. This resurfacing of courts 5 & 6 met with very positive response and it is our intent to utilize the same type of materials for court 3 & 4. Our original long range plan called for a small increase in annual dues but, in light of the current economic climate, your Board of Directors decided to postpone the increase to 2011.
Recognizing that the Board has decided to postpone any fee increases, we would ask for your help and ensure that your annual dues are paid promptly. Each year we are faced with a situation where several members forget to pay and we spend a great deal of time following up. In an effort to address this problem, we have decided that a late fee of 10% will be charged if membership dues are not paid by July 1, 2010.
Please join us at our Annual General Meeting which will take place 11am Saturday July 3 at the courts. This is an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions about your club. Once again, I would like to thank the tireless efforts of your Board of Directors who make the LBTC such a success. This club is run entirely by volunteers and we would welcome your involvement.
See you on the courts.
